good information to those who still manage Apps on their iOS device
Based upon my recent experience and the fact that Apple suggests not to use iTunes 12.6.5 with Mojave but one gets the impression its ok with High Sierra I issue a warning not to do it.
I've tried with three different iPhones and iTunes 12.6.5 with iOS 12.2 and an iPhone XS Max , iPhone XS or iPhone SE works fine with Sierra. With High Sierra one gets lulled into sleep with whats happening until syncing is started, There's a problem with syncing all the library of songs, iOS home videos, music and movies. I've observed errors of can't sync 2,400 files or 50% of the music did not sync because not enough disc space even though there is plenty of disc space.
Lastly, even though Han Apple doc does state that "you'll never be asked to update iTunes" this is not true if user Migrates during a Sierra install. If anyone tries then choose skip, you'll end up with the default iTunes in Sierra I think it was iTunes 12.6.1 and NOT iTunes 12.6.5 which was installed before the Migrate took place. If user picks update and assumes an iTunes 12.6.5 update will result that's also false because iTunes 12.8 will be installed then you'll have to start all over. The phrase used is something like "your previous library will not function properly" so that intimidates a user.
Tread lightly about this and don't press your luck. Stay with what works and use this information to your advantage.
