How to find all Unnamed Face in Photos 5.0 Catalina

In Photos 5.0 on macOS 10.15.1 Catalina we can create a smart album with all unnamed faces, to find faces we have not yet named.

  • Just create a new smart album with the command "File > New Smart Album".
  • Set the smart rule to "Person is " and leave the name empty, like this:


This album will show all photos, with an unnamed face, even the faces of statues, or portraits in paintings, strangers in the background, or artefacts, looking like a face. Unfortunately it is not possible in Photos to remove automatically detected faces from this list and to dismiss them.

Since we cannot delete the faces circle from the photos of faces, we do not want to name, I add keywords for the faces I want to ignore, for example "Strangers" for the strangers in the background or "Art" for paintings and statues.

And I refine the smart album with the keyword rule, so it will not include photos with the keyword "Strangers" and "Art", combined with "Match All".

Now the smart album looks like this:
