As a frequent contributor to this forum, you may hear about using Etrecheck to paste your report.

Note: Only advanced features are paid for on Etrecheck. When you get a request to use it on the support community, it is only for use of the free features.

If you are baffled how to make this report, here is a detailed tip on the steps:

  1. Go to http://www.etrecheck.com/ and download the software.
  2. Go to the Finder

3 Click on it once there so a Finder window appears. Pick Downloads from the Go menu:

4.Then in Downloads double click EtrecheckPro.zip

5.Then double click EtrecheckPro.App

6.Scroll through the agreement to be able to click the agree button:

6.Using the right scroll bar so you can agree to their terms.

7.You don't need updates when it asks for them.

8.Allow access to anything it asks for. To share the document, click on Copy report from the square icon in the top of the report.

9.Then you will need to use the icon on your post to paste the content of the report into the communities:

to bring up a dialog that allows you to paste with the edit menu, the report.

Once this is done add whatever questions you might have before you post.

Before posting Etrecheck results to the forum, recognize any results which indicate:

MacKeeper

Zeobit

Macpaw

Chromium - This program is also open source software that currently has legitimate versions. If you never deliberately downloaded it, and it does not launch the search engine you requested, it probably is wise to remove it.

Are malware that you may have inadvertently installed, or are unnecessary and should not have been installed because they actually slow your machine down. LaunchAgents from sources that you don't recognize should be questioned. If you are confident the software in question does not belong, and you have backed up your data, you can remove the said software.

Backing up your data* is a MUST before doing any evaluation of issues that impact your computer. Accidental deletion of important files can leave your machine unable to start, or programs unable to run!

EasyFind is a great utility from Devon Technologies that lets you locate delete files without indexing, if you boot into safe mode (holding the shift key at startup), as long as you have taken precautions to backup your data first.

If the application of a program you wish to remove is present, you can use http://www.reggieashworth.com/buy.html AppDelete to remove its entire content quickly.
