Sound Mic Issue on iPhone
1. Bluetooth connected devices
Make sure you haven’t connected a Bluetooth headset with your iPhone, as this may lead to prevent speaker from producing the desired sound. Go to settings > Bluetooth and make sure no headset is connected with it.
If Bluetooth is off and closing the camera app and opening again hasn’t fixed your problem, you should check if the mic on your iPhone is working properly. To do this, open voice memos on your iPhone and try to record a voice. If it doesn’t work properly, follow each of the below steps one by one try and check after each step.

Force restart iPhone X and later, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus
- Press and quickly release the volume up button.
- Press and quickly release the volume down button.
- Press and hold the side button.
- When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
Force restart iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus
- Press and hold both the volume down button and the Sleep/Wake button.
- When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
Force restart iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, or iPhone SE
- Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button.
- When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
7. Clean the Mic:
If any of the six methods hasn’t worked for you, make sure that the mic of your iPhone is cleaned. Sometimes, tiny dust particles may give rise to blockage of sound while recording videos. To clean the mic on your iPhone, If material is still present, use a soft, lint-free cloth with warm soapy water.
- Avoid getting moisture in openings.
- Don’t use cleaning products or compressed air.
