Another option would be to change group permissions on an accounts. Let's assume you want to change the name of the account full name "Sidekick Three" or short name "Sidekick3". An account has two names the full name or the short system name. At least the short account name cannot be the same.

Log on to an admin account. You may need to be.

finder > Go > Go to Folder...

enter /Users

fyi:

[ in macos all folders and file start with the root account which as /. The user home folders are stored in /Users. [ there are not periods on the end. Instead, the period marks the end of the sentence. ]

Now you see all users. I've trimmed the picture to just one user... security.

I've clicked on the triangle to see a little lower

if needed, click on sidekick3. then command + i [ i'm using the old style the new is command - I, I think ]

a trimmed image of just permissions. You may need to hit the triangle to expand.

Unlock by clicking on the lock. Hope your are on your admin account. you may need to be.

enter you password. This is the password to you logged on account. You must be logged on to your admin account.

fyi: You may want to change staff to have Read & Write permission. Click on the double arrow. And, change. [ I haven't tried this. ]

click on "staff" under name.

click on Apply to enclosed items...

agree.

now, you have set all the files and folder for this account sidekick3 to have the group staff. This [should] will allow you to see all of these file on your main account.
