How to Create and Use a Black Screen Saver (To Avoid Sleep Mode) -

Use a Black Rectangle Made from a Screenshot:

Take a screenshot of your desktop to perform this. Use a black-colored rectangle to get a black-colored background. In an Album with other items in it, the photos will continue to switch. By creating a new album with only the black rectangle, only the rectangle will reside, and nothing with change.

The Steps to Follow, Mentioned In Depth with Screenshots:

I. Change your Desktop Background to Black:

  1. Go to: System Preferences
  2. Select: Desktop & Screen Saver
  3. Click: Desktop tab
  4. Select: Colors
  5. Select: black [Top-Left Corner Item of Color Pallet]


II. Capture a Portion of your Black Desktop:

  1. Hold Down: these three keys simultaneously: Shift + Command + 4
  2. Drag: the cursor along an empty black spot on the screen (with no icons)


III. Drag the Black Screenshot to a New Album:

  1. Open: Photos App
  2. Go to: File menu
  3. Select: New Album
  4. Drag & Drop: the screenshot into the album
  5. Click: Import

  1. Go to: System Preferences
  2. Select: Desktop & Screen Saver
  3. Click: Screen Saver tab
  4. Select: Classic (on left)
  5. Click: Source drop-down menu
  6. Select: Photo Library...
  7. Select: the album created from step 3
  8. Click: the black rectangle (screenshot from Step 2)
  9. Click: Choose button


V. Preview the Screen Saver:

  1. Open: Music and let it play
  2. Hover: your cursor over the Screen Saver
  3. Click: "Preview"

  1. Go to: System Preferences
  2. Select: Desktop & Screen Saver
  3. Click: Screen Saver tab
  4. Click: Start after: drop-down menu
  5. Select: 1 Minute
