Search a device model or specs with Mactracker.

It is possible to find the specific model (and specs) of an Apple device by serial number using the App Store version of Mactracker.

First, of course, you will need to navigate to the Apple App Store and download and install Mactracker.

Once you have done that, it's really easy. Once you have Mactracker all you need to do is open the App. From there, you can choose a category in the left sidebar. Then enter the device's serial number in the search field. Once it's found, just double click the model in the right panel to find the specs.
