AppleTV 4k and 4th generation are both AppleTV OS based hardware that offer Apps from an App Store allowing you to view channels, listen to radio stations and watch your home based movies. As a result, they offer something earlier generations don't. Mulitasking.

The AppleTV remote comes with an TV icon button that when double tapped brings up all the open Apps. Like the iPhone home button double tapping, if you swipe foremost app window up, it quits the App.

The downside of course, is if unknowingly you open many Apps at once, you may find that Airplay from computers fail, but not from the phone. I wrote this tip because of discovering this feature. You may find the AppleTV asks you to complete setting up Airplay with your unlocked phone set in Bluetooth, but nothing happens. The reason is the tasks in memory are too much to start another stream from a heavy source like a computer. The phone being lower resolution doesn't make as much a difference, and why it works with the computer fails.

So double tap your AppleTV Remote's TV icon, and become acquainted with how many tasks it can run before it stops letting you use its functionality.
