Set Login Shell from Terminal

You can set the Login shell (the default shell in Terminal) 100% perfectly:

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Click Users & Groups
  3. Click to unlock the padlock 🔓
  4. Right-Click your (admin) username
  5. From the shortcut menu that appears, click Advanced Options...
  6. Under Login shell:, select your preferred default shell from the dropdown menu
