As you use your Mac and Safari, over time, you may have installed a variety of Internet Plug-Ins from different sites. However, with the latest internet browser technologies featured in Safari, Internet Plug-Ins aren’t widely used anymore, and having old versions of them installed can potentially cause issues while using Safari on your Mac. This is why in most cases, you should delete them.

Deleting Safari Internet Plug-Ins in your User Library

1.- On your Mac, go to the Finder. Next, select the Go Menu Bar item and hold the "option" key on your keyboard at the same time. You should now see a new item in the Go menu titled Library. Open it. This is your User Library which is where you can find Internet Plug-Ins to delete.

In the example above, the "Go" menu bar item is open, while the "option" key is held. The cursor is hovering over the "Library" item that needs to be selected.

2.- Once you are in your User Library, scroll down to find a folder titled "Internet Plug-Ins".

3.- Once you find this folder, double-click to open it. Depending on where you've installed Internet Plug-Ins in the past, you may see items listed here. If you don't see anything, move on to the next section titled Deleting Safari Internet Plug-Ins in the Shared Library.

4.- To delete the files, select them, then control-click and select Move to Trash.

In the example above, the user has two Internet Plug-Ins installed in their User Library. These are titled "Example 1" and "Example 2". These have been selected, and the control-clicked menu is open to select "Move to Trash".

5.- Once you've selected Move to Trash, you can Empty the Trash. Old Internet Plug-Ins have now been deleted from your User Library.

2.- Once you are in the Computer window of the Finder, select your main hard drive. In almost all cases, this is titled Macintosh HD.

3.- Once you've selected the hard drive, select Library in the new window.

4.- Once you are in the Library, scroll down to find a folder titled "Internet Plug-Ins".

5.- Once you find this folder, double-click to open it. Depending on where you've installed Internet Plug-Ins in the past, you may see items listed here. If you do, to delete the files, select them, then control-click and select "Move to Trash".

In the example above, there are two Internet Plug-Ins installed in the Library. These are titled "Example 1" and "Example 2". These have been selected, and the control-clicked menu is open to select "Move to Trash".
