Update:

Since this User Tip was made, Apple has released iOS 16.4, with the new HomeKit Architecture, so if you are experiencing problems and have not updated to the latest iOS version, do this first.

How to update: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If you find that your invitations to share your home in the Home app do not reach the recipients, you can try this solution. Many have reported back that it worked for them, but it is not a bulletproof solution for everyone.

Please note that in order to share your Home in the first place, you must have at least 1 device set up. You cannot share an empty home. Also make sure you have a HomeKit supported Hub in the house. For example, an Apple TV or a HomePod.

See also this article, which specifies the requirements for inviting people to share your Home setup

⚠️

You should be aware that this method will delete all set up devices in your Home Setup.

You therefore have to set up your home completely from scratch afterwards.

1.

Start by downloading this Apple's HomeKit Reset Profile, from your iPhone.

(This direct link will download a Configurations Profile to your iPhone)

DOWNLOAD

2.

Open Settings. Just below your Apple ID, you will see Profile Downloaded, tap in and install, and wait a bit.

3.

Go back to the main menu in Settings and scroll down and find the new menu item "Home"

4.

Select "Reset Configuration" Wait until it says "You have no homes to reset"

⚠️THIS WILL DELETE YOUR ENTIRE HOME SETUP!

Now you can open the Home app again. Everything will be gone. Leave the Home app open without doing anything for a few minutes, then try setting up a single device. It is important that at least one accessory is connected before you invite others to join your home.

After you have set up your first home device, try sending an invitation again and send the invitation to the person's Apple ID email.

Finally. If you succeeded, remember to delete the Home Reset profile again, you will find it here:

SettingsGeneralVPN & Device Management.
