How to Save or Print a Complete Messages Thread:

Looking to save or print an entire Messages thread from your iPhone? Sync Messages between your iPhone and your Mac through use iCloud. Here is how to doing so...


FIRST...

Setup Messages in iCloud:


I. Sign In: to the same Apple ID:



II. Set Up: Messages:



III. Set Up: your iPhone to get SMS Messages on your Mac:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Messages
  3. Tap: Text Message Forwarding.
  4. Turn On: your Mac in the list of devices
  5. Enter: the six-digit code appearing on your Mac (only appears if Two-Factor Authentication is not in use)
  6. Tap: Allow



IV. Open the thread in the Messages app on your Mac:

  1. Click: on the Desktop on your Mac
  2. Click: Go menu (in taskbar)
  3. Select: Applications
  4. Open: Messages
  5. Click: [the thread] (on left side of Messages app window)




THEN...

V. Export Using Either of these Two Methods...


A. Create a Digital Copy:

  1. Go to: the File menu
  2. Select: Export as PDF...
  3. Enter: a name for the PDF document
  4. Select: a location for the PDF document
  5. Click: Save button

Or...


B. Create a Hardcopy:

  1. Go to: File menu
  2. Select: Print
  3. Print: the document to the printer

Exporting Multiple Threads as a Single PDF Document:

Print and Scan in an Orderly-Fashion:


I. On the Computer:

Prep: the PDF document to be scanned:

  1. Select: the print order of the threads
  2. Print Out: each thread individually



II. On the Scanner:

Compile: the PDF document:

  1. Gather: all printed threads in descending order
  2. Scan: all gathered threads as one scanjob



III. On the Same Computer:

Complete: the PDF Document

  1. Export: the scanjob as one PDF document, saving it to the Desktop. See Screenshot 1.
  2. Print: the newly-created PDF document to hardcopy (for a backup). See Screenshot 2.
