SiriusXM AppleTV app

SiriusXM has an AppleTV app available through the App Store. The authoring of this tip came about because a not so obvious solution to a serious problem. The SiriusXM App version under 7 does not update to version 7 or later. Upon updating TvOS, this makes streaming on App very unreliable. You may see music stop after a few seconds or minutes, and the bargraph showing the playing of music continue while the audio stops, or the bargraph show nothing at all. This is a sign you need to update the App. The App's own settings do not offer a means of updating to the latest version.

To update to the latest version,

1. hold down the trackpad of the remote and wait for the icons to jiggle and offer a menu to delete the app.
2. open the App Store AppleTV app and download SiriusXM from there.
3. Note former versions may have your favorite stations under Favorites. Those have now been moved to Library.

This was the experience on an AppleTV 4th generation.
