When Microsoft re-wrote Office 365 for Cocoa macOS, the Penn State Mac Admin Community found they had to reverse engineer the software in order to deploy it to thousands of Macs. There was almost zero documentation from Microsoft other than the very basic installer pkg. A leader of the admin community reached out to a Microsoft contact and was connected with Paul Bowden. Paul led the Office for Mac Development Team at Microsoft. He joined the Penn State MacAdmins Slack and instead of merely lurking for feedback. He immediately jumped in with both feet. Wrote an apology and produced a Mac Admins website for the community with links to the latest Office version packages for macOS. Everything in one place. It was glorious as it is so very difficult to find these useful items on microsoft.com. The website Paul created was including links to the official Microsoft packages directly from Microsoft official sources on their CDN - Content Delivery Network.

Fast forward a few years and Paul went on sabbatical. Things kept working for quite some time. Until the website certificates expired and Paul was the only one who could fix it. The website wasn't officially managed by Microsoft but by Paul himself. Paul has been unreachable.

The MacAdmins community has put together a new GitHub and website to provide most of the same useful features to deploy / repair Microsoft 365. They also include the Office Reset tools (scripts) to reset / remove a Microsoft 365 App. Plus documentation in the form of guides.
