Find answers and ask new questions

You can quickly find answers and ask new questions using the Search or Ask a Question bar. If you’re signed in, you can also click Post > Discussion at the top of any page.

To ask a question from the home page:

  1. Type your question in the Search or Ask a Question bar. Try to limit the question to one short sentence. You’ll be able to provide more details in the next few steps.

  2. Review the list of similar questions to see if any of them sound like yours. You might be able to find an answer without posting a new question and waiting for other members to respond.

  3. If you don’t find a similar question, click ‘Ask the community.’ If you’re not already signed in, sign in with your Apple ID.

  4. On the next page, type your full question into the large text field. It’s helpful to include details such as product specs, software version numbers, actions that cause the issue, and any troubleshooting you’ve already done. You may want to adjust the title to make sure your issue is clear.

  5. Next, choose the community you want to post your question in. If you don’t know the name of the community, click "Browse communities" to select one from a list. The community name will usually match the product you need help with.

  6. Once you select a community, you can add categories to make your question easier for others to find. Click any of the categories you’d like to add.

  7. Click Post. Your question will be posted to the community, where other members can view and answer it.

To help you track responses, you’re automatically subscribed to email notifications for any question you ask or respond to. To configure your email notifications or change the default settings so that you don’t receive notifications, visit Preferences.

Encourage helpful community members by marking responses that help solve your question. This awards reputation points and increases the member’s status in the community. It also makes it easier for others to find helpful responses.
