Battery Saving Tips for Your Beloved iPhone

The latest update of iOS has variety of features to optimize the battery life on the iPhone. However some owners discover that battery dies faster than usual. Fortunately everyone has several useful tricks to try to. This may help to maximize the battery life of your beloved device. Note: Some of these steps may restrict iPhone functionality or features, however it helps to save crucial minutes or even hours in critical situation or when there is no access to power socket.

Step 1:

Try to reboot your device

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
  • Press and hold on the Home button
  • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

Step 2:

Low power mode

Enable low power mode. Navigate to settings/ Battery/ toggle to the right in order to turn on Low Power Mode

This new feature in iOS 9 temporary reduces power consumption when the battery is low.

Step 3: Identify battery killers.

Navigate to Settings/ Battery. Check the applications. This will show you which app eats up your battery.

Step 4. Background activity

Turn off the feature that allows application to refresh on the background.

Navigate to Settings/ General/ Background App Refresh. Switch it off.

Step 5: Screen brightness

Reduce the screen brightness

Adjusting the screen brightness may save some battery life. You should turn off Auto- Brightness feature first. Navigate to Settings/ Auto Brightness/ slide the button to the left to disable this feature. Once you’ve done this reduce excessive screen brightness.

Step 6: Disable Wi-Fi

Avoid using Wi-Fi when it is not necessary. It will help to make the battery last longer. When the signal is poor, more power is required to receive or transmit data. If you are in the area without the access to Wi-Fi your device is constantly searching for it. This may cause battery drain. That is why you may disable it if it is not necessary at the moment.

Navigate to Settings/ Wi-Fi and turn it off.

Step 7: Disable Bluetooth

Users may have Bluetooth feature on when they do not need it. It is well known battery killer and you may turn it off if you do not use devices that require Bluetooth.

Navigate to Settings/ General / Bluetooth and turn it off (it is already disabled on these screenshots)

Step 8: Stop location services

Many apps use location services and GPS. It also drains the battery of your device.

Navigate to Settings/Privacy/ tap Location Services/ set up appropriate settings to each app (choose “Never” or “While using”)
