As you might have heard, Apple has recently released OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan with a number of improvements to users worldwide. The update brings several new features including the support of Live Photos is Messages, ability to sync PDFs via iBook and more.
However, the thing I like most about OS X 10.11.4 is new Secure Notes. The latest OS X version lets you protect the notes containing sensitive information (personal data, bank account details) with a password. Yeah, it’s not recommended to store things like that on the computer, but anyway, I guess that 90% of users do so, so I’d like to tell you how to protect your notes.
First of all, make sure you have OS X 10.11.4 installed on your Mac. after that, open the Notes app and hit Create a Note.
Type in the information you want to protect.
Right-click on the note and select Lock This Note.
Create a secure and reliable password and choose Set Password to lock your note.
To protect an existing note with a password, simply right-click on it and hit Lock This Note.
That’s it, next time you open the Notes app you will see that your sensitive data is protected. To sync your secure notes across all devices you own, make sure you log in to the same account on each and every device and that iCloud sync is enabled.
[IMPORTANT] TO USE SECURE NOTES, YOUR DEVICE MUST BE RUNNING OS X 10.11.4 (MAC) OR IOS 9.3 (IPHONE, IPAD, IPOD TOUCH).
Hope this helps you!
