Typing Other Languages on an iPad with a Hardware Keyboard

When using a hardware keyboard to type other languages with an iPad or other iOS device, you may need to go into Settings > General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboards in order to match the layout there with whatever is printed on the keys of your hardware. Unfortunately Apple supplies only a limited selection of such layouts, so an exact match may not be possible. For example, if your keyboard requires the British PC layout, you are out of luck.

As far as I know, 3rd party keyboards do not include hardware layouts.
