Currently Being ModeratedSep 2, 2009 6:53 PM (in response to alangsam)When I installed 10.6, the Option .kext files were placed in the Incompatible Software folder but Globetrotter Connect (the program) was still available in Applications. So I was away from wifi earlier and plugged in my AT&T Quicksilver, opened Globetrotter just to see what would happen, and it didn't work. It did, however, show up in Network Preferences (as a new Location and as a modem).
I tried tweaking the settings of the modem but couldn't get it to work (this was before I read the messages here).
So I went ahead and uninstalled Globetrotter Connect completely--and suddenly when I plug my Quicksilver in, I get nothing in Network Preferences at all--no new location, no modem, nothing. It's plugged in and the light on it is green, but I have no way of using the tips provided in this discussion to get the Quicksilver going. Any suggestions?MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6)

Is there a way to make it appear???? Thanks!!mac Pro dual 2.66 3gb ram 4*500gb, Mac OS X (10.5), MacBook Pro 2.4ghz w/7200rpm 200gb drive; iPhone, Various iPods
Currently Being ModeratedSep 3, 2009 1:49 PM (in response to Lear Pilot)Has anyone achieved any success learning from AT&T or Option when they expect to roll out the snow leopard compatible software? AT&T will need to process refunds for the time when this service is unavailable. This is really annoying.MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6)

Currently Being ModeratedSep 3, 2009 2:00 PM (in response to Lear Pilot)On another note, I was at the AT&T store today and they are still selling the card. I asked the sales rep if it would work with a new mac I plan to buy today for my wife (will be loaded with Snow Leopard and I told him it would be loaded with Snow Leopard).
His response was to say that "sure, it works with Macs, want to get one? I can have it activated in a few minutes". There's 1/2 the problem right there.... horrible or non-existent rep training.mac Pro dual 2.66 3gb ram 4*500gb, Mac OS X (10.5), MacBook Pro 2.4ghz w/7200rpm 200gb drive; iPhone, Various iPods
Currently Being ModeratedSep 3, 2009 2:32 PM (in response to mjp123)Ok I have the USB option card. I have used the uninstall on the globetrotter connect software, however when I go into the network setting on my computer I see three things:
- Icon 322 App
- Icon 322 Diag
- Icon 322 Modem
Just wondering 1) why did the uninstall program not remove these and 2) is there a manual way to do this. I presume these files must be removed before snow leopard will configure the Option card.
Would appreciate any guidance. On how to make this happen.

Currently Being ModeratedSep 4, 2009 8:08 AM (in response to Mike Schell2)Just called Option in Atlanta at 1 404 995 7082. They said that Apple released Snow Leopard 2 weeks early without the drivers that will work with the option wireless USB. He said as soon as the drivers become available from apple they will post them at www.support.option.com/att (note I do not know if att is ATT or Att or some other variation.

Currently Being ModeratedSep 4, 2009 2:06 PM (in response to mheumann)i called the 877 number for Option today. they are painfully aware of the problem and appear to be working hard on it. i asked them why they nor ATT put something on their website explaining that they are working on it. he thought they could have a fix by late today or sometime next week. the developers are in Holland.Macbook Aluminum 2.4 Ghz, Mac OS X (10.6), 2.4GHZ 6GB 320HDD

Currently Being ModeratedSep 7, 2009 4:36 AM (in response to alangsam)Hi!
I have same problems with an Icon 225 from Orange Romania. I wrote to Opticon support and they answered today: "We are working on new versions of our connection software and these will be available from our support website for download in approximately 3 weeks time from now." On the other side I think that I have to wait more longer cause my Icon is an OEM..MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6), MacBook Pro 3GB

Currently Being ModeratedSep 7, 2009 11:05 AM (in response to Rick J123)Thanks for the info! Stupid question from an obvious non-techie.... Do you know if it will work with my Option GT Ultra Express Card (that goes in the express slot, not USB)? I guess it may since it does show up under USB in system profiler...just wondering...Thanks!

Currently Being ModeratedSep 7, 2009 11:10 AM (in response to Lear Pilot)Hi!
Installer says: "This is the driver for the following cards from Option International: GlobeTrotter HSDPA 7.2, GlobeTrotter GT MAX 7.2, GlobeTrotter Express 7.2, GlobeTrotter GT MAX HSUPA, GlobeTrotter Express HSUPA, Icon 322, Icon 225, Icon 031"MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6), Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: MacBookPro2,2 Processor Name: Inte
Currently Being ModeratedSep 7, 2009 11:34 AM (in response to iorgulescudan)hmm, mine says "GT Ultra Express" model geo 302.
this is what it looks like: http://www.comfortsurf.com/images/option/gtultra/ExpressGE0302_3.JPG
Hopefully its the same as the "Globetrotter Express HSUPA"
Just don't want to RE-INSTALL Snow Leopard to see it doesn't work!
If anyone has this card and it works successfully, please advise!
Thanks so much!
