Thank you, Hamilton
I believe my Oki 5300n has a USB port in addition to its Ethernet.Currently I have the printer plugged into an Ethernet port on my Airport Extreme but its USB port it open and the OKI can go there.
sort- of -related question: will Airport Extreme handle a USB Hub? which would allow me to use the USB port for more than one hardware item.
I also have an oki printer (C710dn). I had the same problem. I re-installed the print drivers from the oki web site and it now works. Give this a try. Still a bit annoying since you can't use the print icon on a word doc for some reason and the default printer is now adobe, so you have to keep selecting your printer model.
Well, my note yesterday to Oki support touched a nerve
Here is what an OKI tech support wrote me today
"We are aware of printing and other issues with Apple's release of Snow
Leopard and we are sorry for the inconvenience.
We are working to resolve these problems as quickly as possible.
Please note that most other printer manufacturers are also having issues,
so this is not unique to OKI.
Unofficially we are having success using the "generic post-script" driver
for Post-Script printers but not the GDI printers
Meanwhile we are working toward a comprehensive print driver solution as
quickly as possible.
Please watch for updates on our website - www.okidata.com."
Oki lost my vote today. I ordered a new Xerox Phaser today. They have had a year to get the drivers ready. Xerox Phaser printers (which we have 7) had drivers ready on August 28. Oki, (which we have 3 printers), nothing. This is sad since they have great printers but we need Snow Leopard Server support and they prefer to give their Windoze customers priority. Look at their website. All they mention is Windows 7. The same happened with Leopard.
Oki, I hope you read these posts.
Cheer for the helpful info guys, I figured I'd add how I got mine working for others to read in future:
It's a OKI C5600
As others said I reinstalled the 10.5 drivers from the OKI website
I tried what Liam said about selecting more printers and selecting the TCP/IP one but that didn't work (possibly because I'm connected via USB)
So instead of selecting TCP/IP when I click on more printers I selected the USB one and it works just fine (happy days coz I was very unhappy until I found this thread!!)
Selecting the USB C5600 from the printer list DOES NOT WORK, you must go in via more printers for whatever reason.
Did you simply download the driver X.5 from Oki's site, and run the installer?
I have done this, then went to find the OKI in the add printer wizard by going to "More Printers" and selecting OKI TCP/IP and I just get a <Not Driver Installed> where C3400n should be.
Ps. I have tried installing the OKI drivers several times.
Might installing Rosetta be causing an issue?

I also am having trouble with my C5500 Oki.
I've tried to reinstall the 10.5 software- no luck.
I've tried to add as TCP/IP printer- can't find the IP address (where is it???)
I've tried adding as generic PS- no luck.
Guess I'll have to wait for the driver update? Or if there any other suggestions, will gladly try them.
