Hi there, ..
I am getting the following error msg when trying to connect my iPhone to iTunes 9
"Unable to load data class information from sync services"
Then when I try to download the iPhone 3.1 update ... iTunes Crash!
Then I get " AppleMobileDeviceHelper quit unexpectedly"
Any clues guys?
Thank you ..MacBook Pro 15", iPhone OS 3.0.1
Upgraded to iTunes 9, seems to hang only on my larger library (51GB/9100 songs;); i can maybe import one or two files, delete a couple files, navigate around in the system for a couple minutes, then its beach ball time for at least 30 seconds.
Hanging on simple navigation is a deal breaker.20' Intel iMac, Mac OS X (10.6), iTunes 9
I can't seem to sync new videos to my iPhone (3.1) since the iTunes 9.0 update, either. And backing up is taking forever. It has been at it nearly 45 minutes, and I gotta shut down.
Hope they fix this!MacBook Pro 15", Mac OS X (10.6)

I get the beachball of death at launch and iTunes becomes unresponsive until a Force Quit. I found the preference file: com.apple.iTunes.plist and deleted it. After that, I was able to at least launch it again without a crash and am attempting to update the iPhone software as I write this.
It seems iTunes 9 was rushed out the door a bit early.Intel Macs, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
I think OS makes no difference here...
If I had to guess, I'd say Apple released this ahead of schedule to cover up the fumble on the ipod touch not getting a camera. We've all seen prototype cases and even an actual working ipod touch with camera prototype. Something went wrong and they needed a big hit for their announcement. It's VERY obvious. Steve wouldn't talk about the fact that he was gravely ill until now and it's the same thing with the ipod... they don't want to look bad so they come out with some BS excuse about how it's for gaming. Well there's a lot of games and apps that use the camera so I'm not buying that for a second.
Long story short...
I'm getting the same problem I see from a lot of Mac users on here... itunes freezes up and you have to manually kill it and restart it. It was released pre-maturely.Toshiba Sattelite, Windows Vista, 2.4 dual core duo, 4 GB DDR2, 500GB SATAHD
my imac 3.06ghz / snow leopard just completely freezes. can ping it externally, but can't ssh/login so its completely locked up. has done this 3 times in an hour since iTunes 9 install, and never before..
and itunes 9 is an automated software update ! my wife just installed the update on her iMac 20" as well so its spreading like a virus !
does anyone from apple read this thread to see how many people are having a problem ??MBP, iMac24, iMac20
I'm also having problems with iTunes 9.
I update my personal video and each time I try to add it, iTunes crashes.
Worse yet it removes the video!!
I have several other videos which I've added before iTunes 9 all played fine but if I add a commit or edit anything to the video even the name, it CRASHES (Spinning Ball).iMac 2.4 Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.6), CRASH/NO RESPONSE

That's fine and well, but clearly you are way off target. If you're intent was to stir up the negative, this forum wasn't designed for the purpose, I strongly suggest you locate a PC forum where you can vent your more then ridiculous gaunter. We here express issues that should be addressed and fixed, with the possibility that others may or may not have notice about software or hardware. No negativity towards macs here. I have both a Macbook and a Vista PC. I haven't updated on the Macbook yet, but I may not after the performance on my PC. It doesn't hang or crash, but the interface locks up and the music skips CONSTANTLY while playing. Anytime I change playlists or click a new song and make a new Genius list, it seems to be giving me fits. Other applications (Outlook, iSkysoft) are working fine simulatneously, so it really is iTunes itself. It's really frustrating. Uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch and still having the same problems. May have to switch over to Winamp until it gets worked out...Dell Studio XPS Core i7, Windows Vista

This solve a great deal of system issues when force quit is no where to be found.iMac 2.4 Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.6)

Try removing any 3rd-party iTunes add-ons or re-creating the iTunes library, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1852
Also, make sure your Mac has the latest software updates available. Just click the Apple(top left) and then click Software Update.
