Since upgrading to v. 9, the artist name is in a illegible font on the main page. On other pages various parts are in the same gibberish. Did I get a bad font install during the installation process?

I have this same issue, but only in the iTunes store, Was working just fine when I did my upgrade it seemed like everything was okay until I connected to the iTunes store and saw the gibberish... checked language settings for both thee PC and iTunes too and they were english. So what is happening here? Websites look fine, just in iTunes is there this problem.

I think this is a font substitution problem, and the same font appears in safari when i visit wikipedia for example. This has happened to me in the itunes update and is driving me nuts. I have searched through my fonts to try and identify and delete the font but cannot find it. If anyone can identify the font in this screen-grab I would really appreciate it.

I too am having gibberish issues with itunes 9 store front. I had this issue a few month ago in safari. I found that my default font Palatino was the cause. I switched to a windows standard font and the gibberish vanished. Unfortunately I do not see the a way to switch fonts in itunes.

    Hope this helps...

I found a possible solution and it worked for me. I had to dump the Hevelica fonts. Rebooted and it cleared up the itunes 9 store front gibberish.

    Hope this helps...

That did fix the MAIN page. Of course I need my Helvetica fonts for other programs and once I reinstalled the fonts the problem reappeared. Apple must use a different font that is also corrupted on a the album page because deleting the font didn't help there.

I redeleted all the Helvetica fonts and it seems to be working on all store pages now. Hopefully it will be fixed on itunes end at some point before I need to reinstall the fonts to use with other programs.

It would be great to find out more information on the Helvetica fonts you're using that cause this problem.

Are these Mac fonts converted with a tool, or Helvetica fonts purchased from a font vendor?

You can contact me directly at sfalken@apple.com if you don't want to reply directly to the thread.

    Thanks!

Is there a better solution than deleting fonts? I cannot delete fonts as I need them for other applications. Is there a patch or fix coming?

Also having the same problem with gibberish all over the place, maybe if enough people post we'll get an update.

I don't think removing a popular font counts as this question being "answered" there Mr/Ms Apple Support Forum people.

I have sent a copy of my fonts to apple support. Hopefully they will figure this out soon.

Following this thread with interest as since updating to iTunes 9.0.0.70, the artist names and section headers in the iTunes store now look like this - http://www.stevenforbes.com/itunes.jpg.

Deleting fonts isn't a viable solution for a problem that is exclusive to iTunes 9. Performing a system restore to a date prior to the iTunes update would also be inconvenient to say the least.

I buy a fair amount from the iTunes store but won't be until this gets sorted by Apple, perhaps an update will be released shortly containing the fix.

Steve, I am in the same boat as you. I also have previously made many purchases in the iTunes store but won't until this problem is fixed. My screen looks exactly like yours.
