When I started using Snow Leopard, I discovered that a lot of my old *.txt files no longer had their .txt suffix.

What would be the easiest way to get back the file type?

I see some ideas:
1. Changing them one by one by hand (yes, I do want to change the file type).
2. Learning how to do Unix scripts.
3. Learning how to use automator.

What do you recommend?
24" iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.1), Home workgroup
