Recently I have updated my iPod Touch 2G from 2.2.1 to 3.1.1. and since I updated it, it comes with this situation:
-It connects to the internet
-The internet stops working after a really little while, but the WiFi signal bars still showing
-I power off the internet of my iPod and turn it on after a while
-Same problem repeats

When I was on the 2.2.1 version I never had this problem and I have already tried many things to make it work, such has unplug my router and plug it in again and such.

So, how can I fix this problem?

Thanks in advance
-Chris S.

This is exactly what has happened to several of the iPod Touches that our school has deployed - with the 2.2 wifi works perfect, and with 3.1 it looks like everything is connected, but simply hangs when trying to load a web page.

Have you tried deselecting your network and then attempting to reselect it again? I'm not sure if my terminology is correct, but something like this has worked for some users.

I'm having similar problems, I let the battery go all the way down, and after recharge, iPod is unable to detect any wireless networks - not having the settings> general> wifi> "wifi on/off" is grayed out issue that some 1st generation iPod touch users are seeing after upgrade from 2.1.4 to 3.1.1 Everything in config appears fine, just can't see wifi now. Reset to factory defaults, then restored - no luck, erased memory on device then reset, then restored to known good configuration, still no wifi. Naturally I'm 30+ days past the end of the 1 year warranty. Any suggestions?

You've probably already done this, but go to WiFi settings and turn off and then back on.

I really have no idea if this is a common issue but I can tell you that the moment I upgrade to the 3.1 wifi acted up. I have tried all the troubleshooting that I could find but nothing is helping. So I can assume that there may need to be a patch or some sort or a fix that will help.

Is your router working OK with other WiFi devices?

I don't know how common this is but mine started doing it also in the past few days.
I upgraded to version 3 when it first came out, so I don't think it's a v2 vs v3 thing.

If I go to settings and turn wifi off then back on I can get things to work for a little while,
(1 or 2 mins) but it gets stuck or hangs up again.

The wifi signal is allways good, but the activity spinny thing just keeps spinning.

This has become a major pita
I have had to turn the wifi on/off once while trying to reply to this message.
