Is anyone else here noticing that when starting up the Mac and then opening Safari, the homepage (In my case, Google) takes longer to open? I keep seeing "Loading" for about 10 seconds. After that, all other pages respond faster, and when I open Safari again the homepage shows up immediately. But if I shut down and start the computer and try to open Safari, the lag returns on the first homepage.

What is Safari trying to do when it loads? I'm running Tiger 10.4.11 on an early 2006 iMac.
Mac OS X (10.4.11)
