Q: iPod touch 2g component cables will last upgrades?

I've sort of had enough of apple disabling my composite cables every stupid upgrade.. There is no end to this stupidity. I may as well "upgrade" to apple accessory in this case if I plan on keeping them for a bit, not only that but nobody offers component -- that I've seen.

My question is; are these sort of apple accessories safe from upgrades and the dreaded "charging not supported" "accessory not supported" and that kind of thing?
I may even upgrade to the next gen iPod, depending if its worth it but not going to buy something thats not at the very least future proof for the next year or so.

any help would be appreciated

    Nobody offers component?

I've never had an issue with Apple branded cables for my iPod(s). I buy the more expensive Apple versions just to avoid the circumstances you describe. Expensive to begin with but cheaper in the long run.

Btw, I'm curious as to why you posted this question in the forum dedicated to Apple's iPod radio/remote? I would've thought you'd get more reaction if you posted in the forum for either the iPod you own or the iPod you are thinking of buying.

I couldn't find a post msg button when just in ipod touch, or authorized accessory catagories in the discussion board. i'm glad it still got a response
