Q: Loud Pop at the end of my session ??

I am also new to WaveBurner (used Logic 5 till march 2009, afterwards Logic 8).

I did my first mastering and burning yesterday. I also have the loud pop at the end of the cd. I will experiment today.

I'm sorry, I tried all day to burn a Red Book audio cd from Waveburner. Without success.A loud pop remains at the end of the cd.
In Bootcamp I tried to burn in another program: Same loud pop. In my old Windows PC I burned with the same program: No Pop.
The info of the DVD (Cd) drive in the Mac Pro reads: it's not possible to write Disc At Once. I can't believe this. Just the DVD can write DAO?

Why are you trying to use +Disk at Once?+

I'm not sure, but isn't that part of the Red Book standard?
Track at once causes pops. I had that years ago, but I forgot how I handled it then.

I checked and found this:
"Disc-At-Once vs Track-At-Once
Another issue that affects both recorder types is whether they are capable of writing a disc from beginning to end without pauses, a necessity if a single session is to be created as demanded by the Red Book Audio standard. Disc-At-Once recorders can do this, Track-At-Once recorders cannot. Make sure the recorder you buy is capable of Track-At-Once recording mode".

I think this means I have to buy another Cd burner to burn master Cd's.It needs to be able to burn disk-at-once. My new Mac Pro 2009 seems to be unable to do so.
Any suggestions for help?

Yes it is.

Track at once automatically puts 2 seconds of silence between each file, the laser actually shuts off.

In Disk-at-once the user sets everything up, fades, silence etc... is all put in place but the user and the disk is burned in a single pass.

For now, I come to the conclusion the Dvd/Cd writer in Mac Pro 2009 gives a loud pop at the end of a DAO-burned cd master, when text en Isrc is checked in WaveBurner. Unchecked the pop is gone.
It has nothing to do WaveBurner itself, because it also happens in Bootcamp with another mastering program.

This is what I've discovered:

If you're burning with ISRC-codes and CD-text, WB (1.6) will create a loud click at the end of the disc.

To avoid this:

1. Inspector/General/Add Silence At CD End: just add 3 seconds here, it shouldn't ruin the way you've imagined your final product.

2. Burn at highest speed!! Yes I know this sounds odd, but it's what happens with my sessions. If I burn a CD at slower speeds (4x, 8x, 16x) the click is there. If I burn at 32x, the click is gone...

I did add 4 extra seconds at the end and this avoids the loud pop. (3 Secs didn't always do so).
The problem is: in the display of the cd player the (single) song looks 4 or 5 secs longer. At the radiostations, the single has to be as short as possible to encourage them to play it. (I'm no genius).

Until now I burned at the highest speed of 8x. I will try to burn at 32x. Hope your tip works.

I burned at 32x speed (included Isrc and cd text. The loud pop at the end of the session is gone.

Let's hope though that Apple will sort this out soon. The just released Logic 9.01, so who knows..

Last night after a long day's work, I presented my client a Red Book Audio Cd of the session we did. One single song, Cd text included, no extra empty space.
To avoid problems I burned at the highest speed (32x).
How disappointing: The loud pop at the end of the session is there again.

I have ordered a new internal DVD writer: Sony Optiarc AD7240S
