Last night I discovered that my ATV had lost its wireless Internet connection. My wireless network is working with other a Windows-based laptop and two iPod Touches but for whatever reason, the ATV is not connecting. I re-booted the wireless router, the DSL modem, and the ATV itself, but so far, no luck. Although (and probably unlike most ATV owners) my primary usage of the ATV is for viewing my digital photos and listening to my music library, I do miss the ability to view movie trailers, and YouTube videos and to hear podcasts and Internet radio stations. Anyone else experienced this or have a fix idea?

    Is this intermittent or not.

What exactly is the problem reconnecting, does it see a network, does it fail to join or just drop off again, do you get any error messages.

I only discovered it last night but will check again tonight. It did not see my wireless network. I typed in the name of my wireless network along with the encription key but it never was able to connect.

Tonight I tried it again, without changing anything and it worked perfectly! Very strange! Never lost wireless Internet connectivity on anything other than the ATV and that only last night. Thanks, Winston, for your response.

Could be wrong but my first thoughts are interference over wifi. If it happens again, try changing your wifi channel used by the router.

If everything else on the network is working OK, I wouldn't think you have a network problem. My original ATV had a bad wireless NIC that caused it to lose its connection with increasing frequency until it failed altogether. If you continue to have problems with your ATV while everything else is working, you might want to take it to an Apple store.

I'll continue to see how it does. The ATV is about 15 months old and no problems until yesterday. The nearest Apple store is 150 miles away. How old was yours when it had the wireless NIC problem? Did Apple make it good? Thanks for your response.

My ATV was about six-months old when the wireless NIC finally failed for good, but it started randomly dropping the network connection with gradually increasing frequency beginning about the third month. It was promptly replaced by AppleCare once I contacted them about it.

Over the past several days, the wireless connectivity of the ATV has been hit or miss so I switched to ethernet. I am still puzzled about this because there are no other wireless devices having any connection problems. Thank goodness, an ethernet connection was readily available.
