Currently Being ModeratedOct 2, 2009 7:59 AM (in response to cogramma)I have the same problem in iTunes 188.8.131.52 except my count for all photo folders is 292!iPhone, Windows Vista, 64bit
Currently Being ModeratedOct 2, 2009 11:43 AM (in response to Tony in Ottawa)Tony, have you tried to do a sync and if so did all your photos remain on your device? I'm unsure what will happen if I try to sync, I don't want to lose the photos presently on the device and not be able to get them back on.
I don't know if it's a conflict between iTunes and my device because I still have Version 2.1.1 on my iPod Touch. I'm reluctant to upgrade to 3.1.1 because of all the posts I've read stating their device became a _BRICK after the upgrade._ I can't afford that to happen but unfortuntely I'm at a stand still now because any future program updates require 3.0 and above for some of my apps for added features.
Could you please let me know if you think syncing would be safe or not?
Thanks alot.Gateway Tablet PC, Windows XP, iPod Touch
Currently Being ModeratedOct 3, 2009 8:31 AM (in response to cogramma)Hi,
I've sync'd several times since this issue started and have suffered no additional problems—the photos on my PC and iPhone both survived the sync. I have the 3.1 software on the iPhone.

Currently Being ModeratedOct 3, 2009 11:28 AM (in response to Tony in Ottawa)Hi Tony,
That is good to hear but I have an iPod Touch not iPhone.
Did you find the same behavior in iTunes like I listed? ALL photo folders in iTunes show the _same count number_of 51 on the right hand side & DOESN'T match the MY PICTURES counts on PC.
Do you think that ALL the photos I have in each folder will still sync correctly?Gateway Tablet PC, Windows XP, iPod Touch 2g
Currently Being ModeratedOct 3, 2009 2:00 PM (in response to cogramma)Hi Patricia,
I'm no expert but I don't see why the Touch should be any different than the iPhone when it comes to syncing photos.
Yes, mine behaves just like yours except mine shows 292 photos in all synced photo folders even though this number is not accurate.
I think it should sync correctly. I know mine does.
Currently Being ModeratedOct 3, 2009 2:11 PM (in response to Tony in Ottawa)Hi Tony,
Thank you so much for clarifying the information. The only difference I have compared to you is I'm still using 2.2.1 Firmware on my iPod Touch. And like I stated before the photo count was the only bizarre thing I noticed.
Do you think I could safely try to sync at this point (with 2.2.1 Firmware & iTunes 184.108.40.206) without upgrading the Firmware to the latest version?
Thanks for all your help thus far....

Currently Being ModeratedOct 3, 2009 2:22 PM (in response to cogramma)Hi Patricia,
I'm just a user like yourself, but I don't think there should be any problems. I only noticed the error in the photo count after I updated the firmware (but it could of been there before). I would be tempted to upgrade my firmware first.
I think the problem actually lies with iTunes.
Currently Being ModeratedOct 3, 2009 2:31 PM (in response to Tony in Ottawa)Hi Tony,
Thanks again. Just one more thing. I know you suggest upgrading the firmware first (2.2.1 to latest) BUT I have read many - many horror stories about how the upgrade made their iPod Touch a BRICK and I can't afford for that to happen!
If it becomes a BRICK I might as well toss it in the trash!!! But I guess if I let all the fear get in the way I'll never know, right?
Maybe I'll just go for it and hope that I won't be sitting on a BRICK!!!
Wish me luck!!!Gateway Tablet PC, Windows XP, iPod Touch 2g
Currently Being ModeratedOct 3, 2009 2:36 PM (in response to cogramma)I hadn't heard that about the Touch. Maybe you should wait for the next update.
Currently Being ModeratedOct 3, 2009 4:19 PM (in response to Tony in Ottawa)Hi Tony,
Have you heard of a date when the next update might be available??
I think I will wait to upgrade after reading in another post area about 3.1.1 and BATTERY drainage is aweful and they stated it would be fixed in the next update. Sounds like this update is pretty buggy still!!!Gateway Tablet PC, Windows XP, iPod Touch 2g
Currently Being ModeratedOct 3, 2009 9:38 PM (in response to cogramma)This is a bug in iTunes introduced in iTunes 9.0.1, and only affects the photo counts shown in iTunes for folder syncing. You can ignore it, because it doesn't affect which photos actually get synced to your device. I'm sure it will be fixed in the next iTunes release!
Currently Being ModeratedOct 4, 2009 7:14 AM (in response to toonz)Hi Toonz,
Wow!!! You made my day!!!
Finally an answer to my question ~~ Now I can do a sync and not worry about the stupid photo counts or losing photos already on the device.
I hope the next release comes out soon that will fix this so we know how many photos are in each folder.
Thanks again....Gateway Tablet PC, Windows XP, iPod Touch 2g
Currently Being ModeratedOct 4, 2009 10:12 AM (in response to cogramma)+Just wanted to give an update on this issue.+ I added new photos and a photo folder and it DID sync all the pictures for me perfectly!
The only difference I noticed this time in the iTunes PHOTOS tab was instead of each folder stating 51 photos that number is now 140. Go figure!
Oh well, all is fine. I may take the next step and upgrade the firmware to 3.1.1 or just sit tight until the next release...
Thanks again everyone for all your help and advice regarding this matter!!Gateway Tablet PC, Windows XP, iPod Touch 2g
