Q: Powerbook Duo 230 Password

I just bought this mac at a thrift store. it is password protected (after it says it is loading) an i dont know the password. how i can i bypass this? it has no disk drives....
if it makes any difference it is a japanese one

    If you're lucky it may be a simple protection scheme that can be bypassed by holding down the shift key at startup. If that works you can then check extensions and control panels to see what may be triggering password requests. Sometimes institutions will have a more basic level security system on there that requires reformatting the drive.

    Normally I'd just advise wiping the drive and installing a new OS, but the drawback with the duo is without the dock you are pretty much lost.

    thank you. worked fine. was able to disable the extension
