The 9.0.1 update came at the same time as the Logic Pro update, so why not this one?

I want to feel Apple's love for 9.0.2 and Logic Express.
MacBook 2GHz, MacBook Pro 2.4GHz, Mac OS X (10.5.6), Nope.

I couldn't agree with you more - this seems a little strange that Express hasn't enjoyed the 9.0.2 update to take advantage of the following:

Resolves an issue In Logic 9.0.1 where the Input Volume slider on the External Instrument or I/O plug-ins would jump to -24 db if any negative value was set.

Resolves an issue in Logic 9.0.1 where an I/O plug-in inserted on an Aux channel strip did not route incoming audio correctly.

The Select Empty Regions command no longer sometimes improperly removes regions or disables loops in the Arrange window.

Fades are now displayed at the correct position over the region waveform in projects that start before position 1 1 1 1.

The Strip Silence window is no longer empty when used in one project and then opened in another during the same session.

The menu is more responsive when using Find to search for an EXS instrument.

Flatten and Merge of takes on grouped tracks now always creates regions of the same length.

Resolves an issue in Logic Pro 9.0.1 where it was not possible to create three flex markers by clicking the lower half of a region, after quantization had been applied to the region.

Resolves an issue in Logic Pro 9.0.1 where Option-drag to copy a region on an Aux channel strip created a duplicate track in the Arrange.

It is now possible to open a Multi Instrument editor window on Mac OS X v10.6.x

It is now possible to quantize takes on grouped tracks.

Resolves an issue in Logic Pro 9.0.1 where using the Strip Silence key command could cause Logic to quit unexpectedly.

Resolves an issue where disabling the Q reference button track that contains a region that has been stretched and then divided could cause the length of the region to change.

Resolves an issue in Logic Pro 9.0.1 where exported files with a single tempo contained two tempo markers.

Resolves an issue in Logic Pro 9.0.1 where using the Use button in the Audio to MIDI Groove template with a flexed region could cause Logic to quit unexpectedly.

    The list goes on...

I am sure that Express users want these things fixed too and that this update is just as important to them as it is for the "Pro" users out there. Please Apple, let people who use Express 9 have the update that Pro 9 users received over three weeks ago!

I know speculation is not allowed here, but does anyone have any comments to make at all?

I agree too. I've had a ton of crashes, and I've posted four bugs since mid september, but no cue as to when an update will be coming.

wow- this is very depressing as I just bought LE9 (with plans on upgrading to pro next year when I get a handle on how to run it). I hope Apple reads these boards- or is there a way to call them and ask them about this- the last thing I would expect is for them to treat LE9 customers any different in terms of bug fixes- an odd business decision if one were to base a future upgrade to Studio on their existing success with LE.

This is one rare time when Apple has not released a bug fix for Express on the same day (or at least within a week) of Logic Pro as it's been months now. I'm not sure if support would answer this over the phone or give any kind of reason as to why. If the last fix did not concern Express users, I would understand, but as it does relate to them as well as the Pro users, I find this very disappointing as well.

Spectulation is not allowed here? How about a guess? It seems to me it's the same basic program as Logic Pro but Express cost far less. I sure hope it isn't because they look at Express as somehow being inferior. I bought Express not only to save money but also because I had no use for several of the add on programs included with Studio. Why spend on something you aren't going to use like Main Stage? HOPEFULLY they will include the upgrade for Express soon.

One of the great things about Express is that it has always been seen that way - it's just Logic Studio without some of the high end features and a couple of the plugins - but by no means a poor relation, like it is with most other DAW's on the market, where the more low cost version you buy, the more next to useless it becomes.

Fortunately, I am upgrading to Logic Studio 2.0 today (with Logic Pro 9), so have thankfully sidestepped this issue, but at a cost. I still hope the 9.0.2 update comes to Express users soon though!
