the router guys at work wants to provide the macs with static ip's for my ard to run more uninterruptedly.
yipppie!
for this, they need the primary network hardware address (pnha) for all of the machines. when i run the system overview report, i only get a hit for the pnha on some of the computers.
to find out why, i've tried the following:
i logged onto the ones with no hit, to check the order of the network interfaces, (system prefs>network>'set service order') - 'ethernet' is on top on all of them, above bluetooth, airport etc. but i'm not sure if this is a relevant thing to look after? also, one of the clients run tiger, and i don't know how to change the order of the interfaces in tiger.
am i on the right track here?
the router guys just seem embarrassed when asked to look into a mac, but i feel just as silly, not knowing things like this..
