OKI C5800

For the most part my SL upgrade went well, no major problems except that I can no longer print to my OKI C5800 (setup as TCP/IP on 192.168.1.5 which is correct local IP). Any attempt to print results in C5800 2 line LCD to display "data error" and nothing prints. It's communicating to it, but obviously not in a recognizable fashion.

I've searched for OKI C5800 drivers for OS X 10.6 but found none. I went to the OKI site and their drivers are dated 7/31/2006 for OS X 10.4!! Not sure what happened to my existing pre-SL drivers when I upgraded?

Anyone else running an OKI C5800? I got this color laser printer primarily because MacWorld gave it a pretty good review and it's Mac driver support. Seems like SL may force me to retire it early

    Similar issues here. I installed the drivers from the Oki web site but they did not seem to work....

    try gutenprint if it still does not work then the only workaround is printer sharing. That is if you have another Mac running leopard or older.

    Having same problem, but just received this from OKI. Haven't tried it yet but seems promising.

    That is not the correct driver. The driver can be downloaded from the
    following link from okiDoc #3985. After going to the link it is very
    important to click on KNOWLEDGE BASE on the lefthand side, look for the
    okiDoc #3985 listed as Snow Leopard 10.6 - GDI Printing Support
    Information, read the document and download the link at the bottom of the
    document.
