I'm having a problem where my album art isn't synchronising with my iphone properly. The art all appears correct on iTunes but after synchronising with my iPhone, the art for one album is also appearing on an entirely unrelated album or isn't there at all. Also, some albums appear with the four albums in one cover image from Genius, instead of the album's art that's on iTunes.

It seems each synchronise muddles up the album art on my iPhone more and more. iTunes seems fine, except when I select all the tracks of an album and hit "get info" it doesn't show the album art in the box, even though each track has the same image saved to it (this may be normal though).

When the music is playing on the iPhone the track shows the correct album art but not when you turn the phone and slide through the albums by cover art view...

I have this exact same problem... the album artwork shows up correctly in iTunes, but it's all switched around on my iPhone. I have the latest versions of both iTunes and the iPhone 3G software, I use a Mac Book Pro (Summer 2008) yet this problem persists. Any help would be great.

Same exact problem for me. So frustrating, especially since with CoverFlow, the album art is for some people an integral part of the iPhone's iPod interface.

The same problem here, VERY annoying (to say it politely).

SAME problem here. Very frustrating as I feel I'm playing 'Whack a Mole'... I update the artwork (which I know is already correct as per previous settings and iTunes) on the problem album(s) and then they are correct on the iPhone, but then a different album(s) exhibit the problem.

I've even cleared the downloaded artwork and saved proper JPG files to the albums(s) and it still does not clear up all the issues.

ALSO, I'm not positive on this, but quite sure the only album(s) experiencing this problem are the ones added to the iPhone since the iTunes/iPhone OS update.

Using a Mac and syncing through iTunes automatically on the iPhone.

Unfortunately today's update didn't fix the album art problem.

Same problem ! AND, the latest update does NOT fully fix the podcast playlist issue -- still doesn't sort right, though at least it updates.

I'm really surprised at how buggy release 9 of itunes is!

Finally I found the solution. The trick is to place the same album name in both "Album Art" and "Album". This will do the trick. The steps are:

    1. Select all the songs from the same album (shift + click).
    2. Right click on the mouse and select "Get Info"
    3. Enter the same album name in both "Album Art" and "Album"
    4. Sync your iPhone and you will see one album name.

Album art is just a place to enter an image. How do you enter an album name in album art?

    Sorry, I meant "album artist".

Hmm...I'm guessing this would only solve the problem with Smart Playlists based on one album. But if you've got other playlists of songs that are from multiple albums, this wouldn't work.

    Apple, please help!
