Currently Being ModeratedOct 30, 2009 7:49 PM (in response to Lenard Hood)OK, I have 10.6.1 and I downloaded and installed the updated driver and I still only have have a beautiful mouse that does nothing except track and R and L click.
No scroll, no gestures!
A very Un-Apple like experience...iMac 24" 2.8 (Penryn) + 2.0 MacBook + 1.66 mini, Mac OS X (10.6), 16 GB iPhone 3G

Between not being able to get it to do anything but R and L click even after installing the updates twice, and finding that it is not that comfortable to hold, I'm afraid I am going to return this beautiful mouse tomorrow .iMac 24" 2.8 (Penryn) + 2.0 MacBook + 1.66 mini, Mac OS X (10.6), 16 GB iPhone 3G
Currently Being ModeratedOct 31, 2009 6:48 AM (in response to Rick Prather)Yep exact same problem here, running 10.6.1 already had installed magic mouse software update (64mb), unpaired my old mighty mouse, restarted an paired my brand new Magic Mouse successfully, restarted again, went to system preferences only to be presented with no Scrolling, no "Magic" anywhere. just "tracking speed", "double click speed", "scrolling speed" and "primary button".
What on earth is going on here? Please don't say we have to wait until 10.6.2 comes out, that could be weeks away!
This not like Apple!

Currently Being ModeratedOct 31, 2009 7:01 AM (in response to agiamiul)Anyone know how to use magic mouse to save a graphic image from the web? You can't just use the right click button. Magic mouse has a nice feel but is a very heavy mouse.Multiple Apples, Mac OS X (10.6.1)
Currently Being ModeratedOct 31, 2009 7:05 AM (in response to SimonCharlie)SOLVED! (for me anyway)...
I had USB Overdrive installed, use the unistaller in the USB Overdrive system pref to uninstall, restart, and all is working! Tracking is still on the slow side though, hopefully either USB Overdrive or Steermouse will update to work with Magic Mouse!

Currently Being ModeratedNov 1, 2009 5:08 AM (in response to Rick Prather)Well, as is often the case, the problem was 3rd party software.
I had made sure that USBOverdrive was disabled but have since found out that it needs to be uninstalled using the supplied uninstaller in the Utility folder.
That did the trick and "Magically" the preference pane appeared and the mouse works great.
I like it!iMac 24" 2.8 (Penryn) + 2.0 MacBook + 1.66 mini, Mac OS X (10.6.1), 16 GB iPhone 3G
Magic Mouse Wireless update does not need OS 10.6.2, I loaded it on top of 10.6.1 At this point all features have worked for me except the one where you can swirl around within a zoomed in photo. I can scroll vertically and horizontally, and do the click features, and the control zoom features without a problem. I think I just need to read somewhere what the circumstances need to be for me to "move around within a photo or screen.iMac 3.06ghz 24" 4g, Mac OS X (10.5.2)
Currently Being ModeratedNov 1, 2009 7:08 AM (in response to SimonCharlie)I guess you should double check that you downloaded the Snow Leopard version of the new Wireless Mouse release. I have 10.6.1 and added the new Mouse software and the Magic Mouse works its magic.iMac 3.06ghz 24" 4g, Mac OS X (10.5.2)
Currently Being ModeratedNov 1, 2009 10:41 AM (in response to agiamiul)I did not have any problems installing the new mouse driver and getting it to work, mostly by dumb luck AKA read the instructions last. Everything seems to work except the two finger scrolling through iPhoto and the rotating photos. Any ideas how to get that working or do you need a newer version of iPhoto?
In the pictures on the Apple site, I noticed that the thumbnails in iPhoto were on the right. I could not find a way of doing that with iPhoto 6. Is that another feature that only comes with the newer versions?
Like some of the other commenters, I would like to see more functionality, like a two finger click or tap on the mouse to activate an additional selectable feature.iMac intel 24" MacBook (10.5.8), Mac OS X (10.6.1), canon printer & scanner
