Sep 19, 2009 12:17 AM in response to Frozoby Mike Johnson12,As my own preference I do not want the iTS to 'remember' in case my MBP is lost/stolen.
This also prevents others if using my computer from purchasing from my account.
When purchasing I only have to log in one time for the session.

Sep 19, 2009 3:15 AM in response to Frozoby Karen,Same problem here since I started using iTunes 9 - it completely refuses to remember my password (although iTunes 8 was quite happy to). I've not found any way to fix it so far... -
Sep 20, 2009 8:20 AM in response to Frozoby muhuminah,Hey, I could be a ******* and suggest you try the top of this http://static.agilewebsolutions.com/1password/user_guide/itunes.html but maybe looking in that keychain thing and deleteing it and trying again (no idea what that really is as I don't use mac). Ive got the same problems but on vista, and same on 2 other vista machines on itunes 9. I've removed and re-installed afew times, tried cleaning the registry while it was removed and I'm getting the feeling I will have to learn to live with it.

P.S. Chocolate mint chip is my favourite, and I'm very glad Mike Johnson12 informed us of his password saving preferences, it really helped the topic. -
Sep 20, 2009 9:01 AM in response to muhuminahby Mike Johnson12,muhuminah - Your advice is probably best posted in the iTunes Windows area of the iTunes Discussions.
FYI - the KeyChain is the program that saves all those login passwords for those of us that use Macs. Great tool.
Chocolate chip mint is one of my favorites.

Sep 20, 2009 9:37 AM in response to Mike Johnson12by muhuminah,I don't really think so, that's why I posted it where I did. I was simply stating the same problem occurs on non mac versions of iTunes and the simple, normal remedies to fix something similar to this do not work. And from what I can gather about that KeyChain thing you are able to add and remove profiles for different programs so it may be worth trying to remove the iTunes information and replacing it. -
Sep 22, 2009 5:55 PM in response to Frozoby Linda Custer,I am having exactly the same problem: iTunes 9 on a MacBook Pro will not remember my password even after I have told it to, many many times. This never happened on iTunes 8.
I've searched the keychain, and can't find an iTunes or phobos entry... -
Oct 12, 2009 4:44 AM in response to Frozoby qubex,I have been experiencing the same problem since I upgraded to iTunes 9.
The keychain shows no signs of being corrupted or damaged in any way. Indeed I can't find any reference to "iTunes" in it at all.
So, for the sake of comforting others who are experiencing this same problem, it seems there's some kind of flaw that does not depend upon our own machines. -
Oct 16, 2009 9:10 AM in response to qubexby Mark Sealey,Same here; asks for my password every time. -
Nov 6, 2009 4:38 PM in response to Frozoby bweech,Same problem here. I'm running Windows 7 and just installed everything brand new. The problem existed on my Vista install. And, its still there now that I'm on Windows 7. -
Nov 10, 2009 1:28 PM in response to bweechby Virgin 805,Same here. I have to tell my passwd like one-yes one-no of the times. I really don't know the reason -
Nov 13, 2009 8:43 PM in response to Frozoby Anondson,I have been having the same precise problem since upgrading to iTunes 9.
It will remember the password for all purchases made after I type in the password. The moment I quit iTunes, relaunch, and buy something new, it will require me to retype the password all over again.
Hasn't changed from 9.0, to 9.0.1, to 9.0.2
Really getting annoying. -
Nov 19, 2009 8:29 AM in response to Frozoby Randal Schwartz,I hate to say this, but "ditto". Starting with the 9.0 upgrade, now through 9.0.2. Every few hours, iTunes forgets my store password. I enter it, click that box, and then it works for a bit, and then I don't use it for a bit, and then it doesn't work any more again. Annoying. -
Nov 21, 2009 10:15 PM in response to Frozoby Anondson,Just by curiosity I dug around in the iTunes preferences for something else (+I'm trying to get iTunes 9 to stop automatically opening to the iTunes Store and open to my Library instead like it used to in iTunes 8+). In any case, I think I may have stumbled upon a fix for this issue for me. I went into the Advanced preferences, clicked the Reset button to "Reset all dialog warnings".
Since clicking the Reset button I had to make one attempt at checking the remember password check box, but never again.
I'm crossing my fingers this stays. But it looks like it's solved for me . . . for now . . .
