Happened never before. Now, since may be two weeks I have to manually restart the base station to find the hard drive. And after 30 minutes it is lost again. Have no clue what to do.

Currently Being ModeratedDec 1, 2009 2:58 AM (in response to nadasurf03)HI There,
I've had the same problem for a few months now.
I have 3 USB hard drives attached via a hub. Periodically the drives would get dropped and the AEBS crash, usually 2-3 times a week.
I blamed the AEBS as it used to drop off the Airport Utility and Finder too. However my wireless network was unaffected even when Airport utility/Finder could not see the AEBS.
After some trial and error It turns out one of the drives has a fault that was bringing the whole thing down. The drive checks out OK in Disk Utility but for an unknown reason ejects itself randomly, despite showing a green light that it is connected, weird. It behaves the same when directly attached to the Mac aswell so I'm pretty sure its the drive.
Since removing the drive from AEBS the remaining drives have remained mounted for over 2 weeks uninterrupted.
Good luckiMac Intel 2.8 4GB, Mac OS X (10.6.2)
