I have a problem with an App (RockBand) that I updated today. After downloading the update, the AppStore will say there's an update to the same App over and over again. I have tried everything: I have just restored my phone, and it still have the same problem! I synced my phone with my Mac many times without solving the problem, I also deleted the App, turned my phone off and again on, then reinstalled the App, but again the same problem: the AppStore says there's an update again, and again, and again...
This is driving me nuts, what should I do? Should I just delete this App I bought? It seems to be the only solution to the problem, or is this an Apple bug and will they fix it soon?
Do you guys have this problem too?

MacBook 2.4 GHz / 2.6 GHz Intel i7 PC, Mac OS X (10.6.2), iPhone 3G 16 GB (3.1.2), Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Did you try to download it using the phone and transferring your purchases after that?
I had similar problems a couple of days ago with one of my apps, must have been a problem on the Store side, it went away a few syncs later.

Yes, I downloaded the Update with the phone and then I synced with my Mac. But the phone's AppStore still shows an available "update". iTunes also shows an update when I check for updates after syncing.

Give it a few hours or a day. The iTunes App Store update server has this issue occasionally (several times over the past few weeks, sometimes it's al app updates, sometimes select apps). It resolves itself after a while, just ignore the update/badge for now.

You were completely right. I just let the Update badge for a couple of hours, re-updated and now the problem is solved. Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. It has been 3 days after the updates a they're still showing both on my iPhone's and PC itune's appstores. I emailed apple yesterday and still waiting for a response.

Me too. App is updated on my iPhone 3GS and in iTunes on my desktop Mac...notification STILL shows up as "update available."

I sent a bug report yesterday, but that doesn't mean Apple is aware of this issue. It's happening for me too. Note that every time you repeat the update for an app, you download another copy of the app file and the original is moved to the Trash. The copy in your iTunes library is renamed and I'm not convinced that this won't cause problems down the road. I find it astounding that a company as big as Apple, with all its resources and expertise, isn't aware of this issue and either can't, or won't, FIX IT. I won't be updating any apps until this is FIXED. I expect better from Apple.

So I contacted apple's AppStore support by email and they said it is not their problem. They gave me the iPhone technical support number. I called iPhone support and the first thing they said is that I'm out of the 90 days free support and I would be charged for the support but he was going to give one free courtesy support since I have called before: he said it is a problem with the actual application (not app store) not sending the correct version update info to app store when it updates on the phone. the only way to correct it is to delete the app and install the current version again from appstore. I did that and it worked. However I lost all the app personal info (one of the apps in question was "cardstar" and I had to re-enter all the merchant info... pain in the neck). I had contacted one of the other apps' technical support about the same issue and they said it is an app store problem. The 3 apps I had problem with are virtuoso piano free, CardStar, and BetterLists. So go figure.

I don't believe this is an app problem, since it happens on a lot of different apps from different companies.

It's definately an app store problem, and very annoying since deleting an app looses all data from it (another major problem with the apps on the iPhone and iPod Touch - there ought to be a way to back up just the data).

Fortunately companies like ngmoco:) are using their Plus+ service on some games to save your data and progress online so it can be synced back to the phone - but that's not common practice, and it's something Apple ought to fix.

Anyway I've been seeing several of these "false updates" the last couple of days, so it seems the app store is having some problems.
