Off hand, I'd guess that you have Postfix's 'mydomain' parameter set to 'mail.domainname.com' rather than 'domainname.com'.
'mydomain' is the domain name that's used for all mail generated locally on the server. Since Squirrelmail runs as a service on the server, any mail sent through the web interface appear to come from the machine itself, hence will use the server's own domain name.
Change the mydomain setting and see if that helps.Mac OS X (10.5.6)
Checked that over looks all proper in the postfix without the "mail." in front of the domain name. Noticed a squirrelmail folder and there is a config.php file there, one line I noticed.
value in the $domain = getenv (SERVER_NAME)
I'll hold for the weekend and see if that has anything to do with anything
Turns out the solution was in the Squirlmail folder config.php
$domain = getenv (SERVER_NAME)
changed to: $domain = 'domain_name'
And universal fixed
Thank you for the responses
