Dec 16, 2009 9:17 PM in response to smilesushibuddyby red_menace,The message means just that - the Classic environment is no longer supported. Apple dropped support for Classic back in Leopard. Some have used SheepShaver, although I don't know how well it works in Snow Leopard. -

Dec 19, 2009 6:47 PM in response to smilesushibuddyby etresoft,You can run Classic MacOS via Sheepshaver. I set one up just the other day to finally import several thousand old Cyberdog e-mail messages into Apple Mail. -
Dec 26, 2009 6:54 PM in response to smilesushibuddyby Beta2,You can download a fully functional SheepShaver running Mac OS 9.0.4 with all the necessary files, including the ROM. Google ' +COI Mac+ ' and you'll find a download link.
Another solution is Basilisk II. It emulates an earlier Macintosh using Mac OSes up to 7.5.5. Google ' +WPMac Appliance+ ' and you'll find a fully functional version with System 7.5.5 and necessary ROM.
Please make sure you have legal right to use the ROMs and the OSes. -
Jan 4, 2010 9:19 AM in response to smilesushibuddyby Sabla,I have a Snow Leopard too, and I've went on Sheepshaver to try and download it to run a classic environment. But I couldn't find a link to download it, it just gave me codes for other websites and companies, such as Basilisk II and CVS (Concurrent Version System). I couldn't find a download for Sheepshaver there, either. Am I looking in the right place? Has anyone downloaded Sheepshaver to be able to help me do the same? -

Apparently not. Please try again. Look at the reply just before your first post. Follow those instructions and yes, you do feel lucky.
I'm sorry, but I can't provide any assistance with more detail. Sheepshaver requires MacOS ROM files to run and those fall into a grey/black area of copyright law.
