Oct 19, 2009 4:52 AM in response to visualsoundsby Meferdi,Well, its very nice if somebody can help;) watching this thread for almost a month now, everyday, but no solution. -
Nov 10, 2009 8:43 PM in response to Meferdiby queenofallthebees,I am having pretty much the same problem.
I feel your pain.
I was at the apple store for a logic lesson today, then spent 4 more hours there trying to get the entire thing installed on my laptop. It did not work. No one that worked there could figure it out!
(+I did this because we had the same problem when we installed on our home computer about 6 months ago+ - we don't know how we ended up getting it to work but it does now).
After I inserted the Audio Content 3 disc, it began to process then it stalled and this popped up:
_Please insert the "Logic Studio" disc to continue installation_
Upon recommendation of an employee, I ejected the disk. We looked for Logic on my computer and found it, but could not determine where it was putting the files...still can't! But can launch Logic just fine.
Soooo,
I inserted the darned 'Logic Studio' install disk again and went through it all over.
That is why I am now here.
I am thinking that Logic is actually done with installation and the next step would be to insert the 1st jampack...but it won't let me.
We even googled at the store and found that other folks are having the same problem...still can't find an answer.
Help us someone please! This needs to be answered:) -

Dec 29, 2009 11:58 PM in response to Meferdiby Mad Rog,*Possible solution/workaround*
Hi,
I'm new here so hope this is how I should post (sorry that this is going to be long but I wanted to detail as much as possible to try and help out), I've just started using OS X so everything is a little confusing - I had exactly the same installation problem detailed above and also tried numerous replacement discs to no avail.
I'll detail my issue and then the solution that worked for me - it was a little frustrating due to the installation time/time it took to not install before testing again so I really hope this works for you as I know how you feel
Ok....
My issue:
Installing Logic Pro 9 with 9*DVDs, everything worked fine until I go to the Jam pack 2 installation DVD, it would install Jam pack 1 DVD then ask for Jam pack 2 DVD, once inserted it would show the DVD on my desktop for a second then eject the DVD (every time!).
My original work around for a week was to start the installation again and select not to install the Jam Packs which seemed to work fine - even though I was not getting the full value of the product.
You cannot test the DVDs while installing so I cancelled installation and tested the DVD which appeared fine?! So I decided to try installing from a virtual drive to see if this worked, I could not get that to work so then I came up with the solution detailed below...
My solution:
1. Try to install an then make a note of what DVD fails every time (in my case it was Jam Pack 2).
2. Quit/cancel installation and then inset the DVD from step '1' above.
3. Open -> Applications -> Utilities -> Disk utility.
4. In the Disk Utility application you will see the DVD drive listed and under this the DVD you just put in the drive - select the DVD (not the drive - not sure if this makes a difference or not but I'm just detailing what I did).
Select 'New image' then I entered the following settings.
Save As = 'Leave the default name entered as it will be the same as the DVD you entered'.
Where = Select Desktop (You might be able to save anywhere you like but this is where I selected).
Image Format = DVD/CD master.
Encryption = None.
Click the 'Save' button and this image will be save to your desktop, I did this for all DVDs after the error DVD (Jam Pack 2) - I think it is an installation error not a DVD error so my experience has shown that all DVDs inserted after the error occurs will be ejected. Also you could do this for all DVDs if you have the space.
Once you have the DVD images on your desktop click them to mount them then start installation again. It is actually more convenient that installing via DVD if you get these errors as once you've made the images, mounted them and started installation the entire application will install without prompting you to enter the DVDs again as they will be read from the mounted image.
The first time I tested this I did not mount all images I simply waited to be prompted for the DVD and then mounted that image - either method works.
Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Just a final comment, once you've made all the images on your desktop an mount them they will install a lot faster than from DVD as they are already on your HD (probably a few minutes per image!).
PLEASE NOTE: I've tested and you need to make the image by selecting the actual DVD name under the drive (meaning on the DVD drive tree) on Disc utility not the drive itself.
Good luck! -
Jan 26, 2010 8:36 AM in response to visualsoundsby fq360,instead of instaling from the disk, copy the contents to your apps folder and try install from there, it may be a disk problem, ive had issues before with disks but managed to copy to desktop and install from there
just a thought? -
Feb 15, 2010 1:18 PM in response to Meferdiby cone5000,I'm having a similar. When I try to install any of the Jam Packs, I get this error message:
"Install Failed
The Installer could not locate the data it needed to install the software. Check your install media or internet connection and try again or contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
The audio content and all the applications installed fine but for some reason, I can't install the Jam Packs.
Any ideas?

Mar 6, 2010 10:27 PM in response to Meferdiby Courtney.Solen,I have attempted to reinstall these a couple of times now and it seems to fail at Disk 2 of the Jam packs. Logic works, but I am missing a lot of my library. I tried solution found below but it did not work for me. Apple help me please.
