Currently Being ModeratedJan 5, 2010 3:53 PM (in response to ljtham)The unit is a couple of months old and the os is original install. I installed FCE 4.0 and I also tried updating through Mac Software Update to 4.01. The update goes well and installs fine but I get the same exact error.MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

I used this email thread to ask if you knew how to fix an itunes SW install failure code 2894.
My old itunes Sw was upgraded to 9.x and won;t install on a Windows Vista, Dell Inspiron PC. My old itunes worked just fine until I upgraded.Dell Inspiron 1525, Windows Vista, Dell Computer
Currently Being ModeratedJan 6, 2010 3:58 PM (in response to ljtham)I was able to download the pluginmanager from apple download site and install it and get fce to work properly. It amazes me why the original dvd would not install the plugin. I hope this information helps others.15" MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2), flash HDD 8GB RAM
Currently Being ModeratedJan 12, 2010 7:26 PM (in response to 4i2fly)I had the same problem as you:
Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: /Library/Frameworks/ProFX.framework/Versions/A/ProFX
Referenced from: /Applications/Final Cut Express.app/Contents/MacOS/Final Cut Express
Reason: image not found
but I tried downloading the plugin manager, and it said it was already installed.
So not solved.
Anyone have any clue?MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Did u happen to do a fresh install or you had fce running previously and all of a sudden you are getting this error? mine was a fresh install and i could verify that the file 'fxpro' did not exist so downloading and installing pluginmanager fixed my issue. in the course of my research i also remember seeing posts that some were getting this error and their preferences for fce had gotten corrupted. that would apply only if you had run fce successfully before then it would have created files that are specific to the preferences. otherwise there would not be any preferences.MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Did you install FCE from the DVD? If you just copied it from another Mac it won't work as people discover when they get a new Mac and try to clone their old one.24" 2.8 GHz (Penryn) 4GB RAM iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.2), Iomega 1TB USB 2.0 HD + LaCie Quadra 500GB HD
Currently Being ModeratedJan 16, 2010 12:06 PM (in response to Susan Chute)This solution worked for me:
I installed FCE4 onto a brand new mini (10.6.2) and had the "/Library/Frameworks/ProFX.framework/Versions/A/ProFX" error.
After an hour of going though the results of googling "/Library/Frameworks/ProFX.framework/Versions/A/ProFX" I found this page:
And installing this fixed the problem. Now FCE4 opens as it should
