Jan 31, 2010 11:41 PM in response to Patrick Sheffieldby M´Pete,Premult was already turned off. Tried turning it on, but that made the border more visible than before.
And the pictures size isn´t the problem either - get the same effect when the files are 1920x1080 (originaly they are 2K files)... -
Feb 1, 2010 10:34 AM in response to M´Peteby stuckfootage,Doesn't happen for me, but I'm just using the version of the cracks file
from a screenshot. I don't have the original file. My guess would have
been some sort of premult issue, but you say you've checked that out.
I wonder if there's some weirdness around the edges of the cracks image itself.
What if you just follow the cracks FileIn with a Crop node, and shave off
the edge?
Have you tried this?

Feb 2, 2010 7:16 AM in response to M´Peteby masterslacker,I saw a youtube tutorial from appleshakeguru that this occurs when keying footage sometimes and he suggested using a SetBgd node. Although maybe that's not how you got the black line. Might be worth a go to dig up that youtube clip and see if it helps. You could also roto with a switchmatte if crop isn't working. -
Feb 2, 2010 10:57 AM in response to masterslackerby M´Pete,SetBgd-node? I don´t have that one... Of course, I´m new in Shake and haven´t really worked in it much, so you could just be talking about the Set-node combined with another node. I really wouldn´t know...
Crop isn´t working, and neither is rotoshaping with a SwitchMatte.
I´ve found a workaround where I create a RotoShape on the MultiLayer itself. This means that the MultiLayer in reality works as an Over-node, consisting of my background movie and the image on top.
The MultiLayer will then go into L1 of a new MultiLayer, and work as the bottom layer of my comp.
Not exactly what I was hoping for, but at least it works! -
Feb 3, 2010 3:56 AM in response to M´Peteby masterslacker,Oops..sorry I didn't remember the correct node name. It's called SetBGColor under the color tab and I think you make it the color that you're keying and it fixes your line. It seems you have figured it out though so that's cool. That's the really cool thing about Shake IMHO is that there are at least 2 or more ways to solve problems. I would guess the only problem could be it might take longer to render or use more memory with certain solutions but it's just CPU cycles. -
Feb 3, 2010 4:10 AM in response to masterslackerby M´Pete,I´ll try the SetBGColor-node when I get around to it, but for now I´ll continue my comp using my newfound technique!
Thanks
