Did the OS 3.0 upgrade to my iPhone 3G, which worked fine. Enabled the sync between MS Outlook Notes and iPhone Notes, which worked fine. However, now that I have the notes on my iPhone, they are sorted by date. Is there a way to have them sorted by name instead?

I ALSO have the same question. Can we sorts notes by name? So far they just seem to be sorted by date.
    Thanks anyone!

I would like to be able to change the sort as well. Date only is just stupid.

Your right that the Notes are sorted in date order on the IPhone, but even that won't solve the Subject sort dilema. I was able get all of the notes to show the same time by doing an export, then deleting the notes from Outlook and re-importing the notes back with all of them showing the same time. I then synced the IPhone with the newly imported Notes and the subject field was still not in Alphabetical order even though they all had the same time stamp in Outlook. I had also checked the export CSV file was in Alpha order before the import step to Outlook. One would assume that the import would put them in the same order down to the seconds in the IPhone Notes (Outlook only shows the time down to minutes though). I could not determine the order of the Notes in the IPhone after the sync as it showed no pattern. This is a real limitation on having Notes Synced with Outlook as even in Outlook you can sort by Subject or date plus in Outlook 2007 you can give them colors and sort by that as well.

One of the reasons I didn't buy an iPhone earlier was the lack of syncing of notes. The sync worked great! Nevertheless, with 700+ notes, no sorting, and no categories this is a really unusable. I still find myself going back to my laptop for notes as it takes too long to find notes on the iPhone. Performance and searching is good however. Now if we can get some basic sorting and outlook categories, we'll be set.

The fact that we can not sort Notes on our iPhones is as ridiculous as not being able to sync notes prior to v3.

Come on Apple, let's pay a little more attention to the significant details.

I long waited for the syncing of notes and was shocked to see they are only sorted by date. I put in a product feedback request to add the sorting option and categories/folders. Be sure to put a request in and maybe the dev team will add the features if enough feedback comes in.

You can use the new iPhone search (the page to the left of the home page) to search all your notes, contacts, etc. It will find words in the note titles and also the bodies.

I gave up on the sorting, but use the search feature on the home page - 1.
    It finds any notes immediately.
Having set that, I would also like to have my notes sorted like my blackberry had it.
