Hi all, hoping someone can help! I've been having problems with Photoshop freezing, safari taking an age etc, generally everything not being as it should. Initially disc repair wouldn't even run, it kept hanging so I ended up doing an erase and restore from time machine. It seemed fine at first but it's getting worse again, what I have discovered it that when I run verify disc permissions it comes up with all sorts on the list, when I go to repair it says repaired but when I check again all the problems are back again. I've read a little about 3rd party installers not being checked with repair disc permissions but I'm not very clued up about it all. Anyhow, anyone got any ideas on what I can do?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

post the repair permissions log. most repair permissions messages that you ever see are harmless and should be ignored.

    everybody gets them.

They are continuous, I think it's due to how I deleted virus barrier so I downloaded it again so I could uninstall but I think it's a diff version as it hasn't erased the first one.

that's your console log, not your repair permissions log. but it does show that you deleted virus barrier incorrectly. you probably just trashed the app. that's wrong. you can not uninstall virus barrier that way. you need to use the uninstaller provided with the app. same is true about any app that used an installer to install.

Hi, yes I know it's console log, was just a quicker way of showing it here. I know it was deleted wrong, my problem is that when i run uninstaller it does not pick anything up. Also time machine isn't backing up so I'm not sure that's the problem

Try AppZapper to uninstall anything related to that App. May be too late though.

You can download any version of the VBX4 or 5, etc. and then open the dmg and choose uninstall..
