While there is a lot of discussion on the "battery percentage" post about battery life, it is clear to me (and others) that this is a major problem with the 3.1.3 firmware and almost makes the phone unusable.

I have both an iPhone 3G and 3GS and after the "upgrade" to 3.1.3, the battery life has dropped to something like 4-5 hours even when in airplane mode and nothing running. I bought "System Activity Manager" and it shows that the system and user CPU usage jumping around, but typically around 5% (with peaks much higher) when I have it in this essentially no activity mode (airplane, all things off).

I would like to downgrade back to the previous firmware version, any way this can be done?
