gmail not receiving mail

Hi,

I'm not sure what happened but my gmail account isn't receiving email anymore. My school email still works in Mail 4.2 and gmail works on my iPhone.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated,

    is your gmail set up as IMAP or POP in Mail? also, have you tried Connection Doctor from the Window menu?

    I have exactly the same thing on my imac running on 10.6.2. No changed settings, but gmail doesn't work anymore. On my laptop there is no problem, running on 10.5.11.

    Can it be connected with the last update? There was something about gmail in there.

    Hello.....I have the same problem....no mail on my Mac account....but mail okay through Yahoo/Rogers account. What's going on?

    I am having this issue as well.
    This particular mail account is working just fine on my laptop, but is not on my desktop. I'm a little inexperienced in mail when it comes to "removing" an account (as opposed to just making it inactive) so i haven't actually deleted the account and recreated it.
    Any safe suggestions for me ?

    All software is up to date on both machines; both machines healthy.

    I didn't delete my original account....just added a new mail account with the same settings. Made that the active one. Now I can receive mail again.

    Yeah I tried doing that (making new account) - same problem though! UGH this is such a frustrating issue to have

    After having this issue I wound up just deleting the account within Mail 4.2 and recreating it and it worked. I lived with the issue for about a month.
