I don't have the mobile device driver eiher. my old computer with windowx XP does have it and my iTouch syncs on that one. it's got to be that driver missing that is the problem. the windows7 computer shows it in the services list, but it's not working!Dell, Windows XP

I won't repost all the info that I've just posted but there is definitely a problem with Apple Mobile Device Support (AMDS) in iTunes 9.1 64-bit installation. I've given Apple Support a lot of info.
No, it cannot be installed separately (according to Apple Support). Even for those that have it listed in their services (I still do), it doesn't help because the AMDS program does not get installed.PC, Other OS, iPhone 3G with OS 3.1.3; Windows 7 64-bit

I am having the same issue with 64bit Windows 7, since I installed iTunes 18.104.22.168.
When I am using the Apple Mobile Device USB driver, revision 6.0.9999.46, (10/2/2009) the iTunes window will freeze up temporarily and my iPhone will not show up in iTunes.
When I roll Apple Mobile Device USB driver, back to revision 6.1.7600.13685 (6/21/2006) iTunes does not freeze up however it still doe s not show up in iTunes.
Interesting that the later date Apple Mobile Device USB driver has a earlier revision number.
In both cases windows “sees” the iPhone as you can copy pictures etc. from it.

An update – I did a “repair” reinstall and my iPhone showed up in the device list and I was able to sync it 1 time.
I undocked it once, now I am back to my iPhone not showing up as a device in iTunes.

Now the my iPhone will show up in ITunes and sync, but only the 1st time after I launch iTunes. Subsequent undocks and redocks of the iPhone and the iPhone will not show up in iTunes.
I guess I can "live" with this until Apple releases the official fix.
