My girlfriend bought a new phone from AT&T and we have been looking around for information on connecting it to the Mac in order to transfer contacts and music. We found a driver (on this site: which seems to work perfectly for contacts and even calendar events. However, she wants to buy a memory card so that she can add music to her phone. I'm at a loss for how to transfer music. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

The place to look for great support for SONY Ericsson mobile handsets and smartphones is here at this site.

You can easily use the usb cable that came with your phone. When your phone shows as a removable disk just drag and drop the music right from itunes or from your itunes library folder files to the desktop or a folder and move directly into the "music folder" on the phone.

You can also transfer photos and videos this way. Just make sure videos.

By the way, i downloaded the isync plugin from and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the tip.

I too just bought a Sony W580i and was able to use iSync. However, the phone did not show up as a removable disk. Any suggestions?

actually i found the answer to my question on another post.
you can and music through bluetooth, its slow but it works. Open up the bluetooth on your mac, select the phone and choose "browse device." From there you can "send" files to your phone. Hope that works. Good Luck.

I can't even get my computer to read the phone. I hook it up and nothing happens. I downloaded that phone plug-in from the site and it just went to my desktop and I can't get it to do anything. Any suggestions?

That's what happens when you download unsupported software with no instructions...

Try for a fully supported W580 plugin with instructions and free technical help.

Hi--thought I'd come along and add what I've noticed to the discussion. Here's what I've observed with my macbook and my w580i:

If you have a w580i and DON'T have a memory card, the phone doesn't show up when you connect the usb cable to a mac. You can still access it via bluetooth, though.

If you DO have a memory card, the memory card (but not the phone's internal memory) WILL show up as a removable drive when you connect the USB cable. No more slooooow bluetooth music transferring!

    Hope this is helpful.
