*How to Reset the Printing System*
1. Open System Preferences > Print & Fax
2. Move your mouse over the Printers list
3. Hold down the Control button and click the mouse (or right click if supported).
4. Click "Reset printing system ..."
5. Restart your Mac
This will remove your printer queues but not your printers drivers. So you will need to add your printer queue again by opening Print & Fax, clicking + and selecting the MP490 in the list.MacBook Pro 17, Mac OS X (10.6.3), MacPro 2x3GHz Quad-Core, Xserve G5, iPhone 3G

Currently Being ModeratedApr 21, 2010 9:12 PM (in response to BellaHMB)The MP490 does not have built-in wireless. It only has a USB port. You could connect the MP490 to the Airport Extreme via USB cable, but if the USB cable is not working correctly then it will cause errors also. Still, it would be worth trying.
With the printer connected via USB to the Airport Extreme, you will have to add the printer queue again, still selecting the Default view. However, if all is okay with the connection, the printer will appear with its Kind column showing Bonjour, instead of USB which displays for a direct connection to the Mac. Select this 'Bonjour' MP490 and ensure the Print Using shows MP490 series before clicking Add.
Once the new queue has been created, select it and then click Options & Supplies. Under the General tab, ensure your driver version is 10.30.3.0. If the driver is not showing this version, download the Canon v2.3 Driver Update from Apple and install this before continuing with testing the printer.MacBook Pro 17, Mac OS X (10.6.3), MacPro 2x3GHz Quad-Core, Xserve G5, iPhone 3G
Currently Being ModeratedApr 21, 2010 10:27 PM (in response to PAHU)Well...I realized my airport extreme is in the next room and would be a big hassle to run a cable to it that might not work. I did download the drivers that you linked and the same thing happens.
Before I purchased this printer, I read reviews which said it works with SL but now it's not working for me and is so frustrating!
Any other ideas? Thank you for your help.IMac, Mac OS X (10.6.2)
